Default Head units

How big of a difference does a aftermarket head unit make when running a amp? Do the RCA outputs make a big difference in clarity?

I personally notice I don't distort as much, if any, since I swapped oem HK to Sony with 4volt pre amp outputs. Could be just me but I think its way more efficient now.

HUGE difference, not to mention the aftermarket headunits are cheaper... I bought my Alpine for about 150, and sold my HK for 550.

Just sayin....

I paid $40 for mine. Its not straight plug and play but there are other options if you don't care about losing controls.
