Default Remote compatablity

I have a new dc fairing installed on my 07 roadking got the sony mexbt3100p stereo and mm651 speakers. Nice combo but it didn't take me long to figure out that a handlebar remote is required. Taking hand off of grip to change something is dangerous as the buttons are too small and sensitive. Looking at the sony rm-x11m remote but can't locate any compatability info. Anybody help me out here. Thanks. I did think about changing grips but $$$$

The remote you need for this unit is the RM-X231. See page 10 of your User's manual.

Ultra...he's talking about the wired marine remote RM-X11M, not the IR one that comes with the unit, I believe.

Macride, if your head unit has the blue remote input on the back, the wired remote should work. It does for my MEX-BT3800 (you don't need to connect the power lead...its only for lights, I don't plan to use the lights on mine).

JBorquin, for the remote, I had a friend helping me put together a mount that would attach to the bolts on the right side controls and put most of the buttons within thumbs reach from the throttle...but I never finished it. Made a nice aluminum can enclosure for the marine remote and patterned a bracket to attach to the controls, but haven't finished it yet.

Another guy on here that I talked to a while back used a mounting kit for some brand of tachometer. It was an billet can of some kind that a tach would be housed in.

I've heard of some people using gauge pods while others are using tweeter pods. Just wasn't sure if anyone knew of one that was a perfect fit.
