Does anybody use their ipod or iphone to input an amp via RCA cables? Just curious on the sound quality. Non fairing bikes are limited in this area and this is the idea I am leaning towards. Not going for competition or anything, just a pair of 6x9's in the saddle bag lids and a small amp.
yes sir. do a search through the audio forum. I as well as a couple of other guys that hang in here have responded to a couple of folks who are wanting to do exactly what you're doing. Search for "road king audio"
I have an Ultra I replaced the head unit on with an Alpine that had an IPOD input on the back of it. I had to order a cable to connect my IPOD classic to. I mounted my IPOD in the trunk and the head unit can control all functions of the IPOD, it also directly charges the IPOD. The sound and clarity are a step above CD quality. Works for me.
This is the route im going. Iphone directly to RCA input on the amp then to two 6x9 in the lids. Done deal. Its gotta sound better then my handle bar mounted speakers im sure.
