Looking for some insight into upgrading the audio on my 2013 Roadglide custom. Wanting to upgrade the front speakers and install 6x9 in the bag lids. I have been doing a little research on this site and am looking at the soundstream amp (TN4.900D), infinity kappas in the fairing and pioneers (TS-D6902R)in lids. Am planning on keeping the stock head unit for now. I would appreciate any help from forum members on what other items i need and how to set up amp and wire the system.
The Soundstream 520/4 will fit in the fairing,...the TN4.900 won't...............if that changes your plans at all.....that would be a nice little upgrade with the Infinity's & Pioneers !!

Installing it all is the easy part. Deciding on what you want is the hard part. As GP pointed out, there's no way you'll get that TN4.900D in the fairing so if you're thinking of a saddlebag install then that will work for you.
Thanks for that advice because I would like to keep my bag space. Will look at the 520/4 amp. Will I need any special connectors to hook up to the factory radio. Any advice you could give would be most appreciated since this will be my first time installing a system on motorcycle.
just the typical electrical connectors such as butt connectors.
aside from taking the fairing off, take a look at this sticky. the wiring will be exactly the same for your setup with the PN4.520D and obviously substitute your speakers for the Polks mentioned
2012 FLHTK - Stock Radio - Soundstream PN4.520D - (4) Polk MM651
I read through all of those posts and no where in there did I see any proof of that being installed. I see a couple of guys talking quite a bit about it but no pics of installs, etc.. labman it might work sir but I'll tell you from experience, it's a chore getting a PN4.520D inside a RG fairing and with the TN4.900D being over 2" wider than the 4.520D.. it'll be a tough one to accomplish and get your fairing cap back on properly.

I should be able to get mine in over the weekend. It should fit perfectly on the side just like the rokker does. The dimensions of the TN4.900 are as follows...
8 7/8 long x 6 7/8 wide x 1 3/4 tall.
Rokker amp is.....
10 5/8 long x 5 wide x 1 5/8 tall.
I also have a pic of my amp installed on the side. You can see the space from the bottom of the amp to the fairing mount. Up top of the amp, there is lots of room. I'll try to do a mockup of it on the other side of the fairing but it will be pretty hard to take a pic while holding the amp. I'm securing mine with velcro when I do the install.
