J&M 2014 Ultra vs ROKKER StreetGlide Part3
lhgdale: Hmmmmm ...."total posts"? Wondering what you believe the number of posts has to do with the privilege of sharing an experience with the forum members? Did it occur to you that "new member" might have something to do with the number of posts? And your "fishy" comment might mean you don't trust what others say. Perhaps you might extend the "benefit of the doubt" until you checked into this a bit more. Anyway ......thanks for the opportunity to increase my "post count"!
To his credit, JMJOHN has contacted me via email and provided me with two programs to try. I'm in the process of installing and will advise the result.
anyone here on the forums that has been in business knows what I am talking about ,,,,,,
lately ,,, he and I have been working together better and we might just get along after all ,,,,,
I have been in the motorcycle audio business for 38 years now, so while that really doesn't mean anything ,,,, sometimes I can dig up the right answers ,,,,,,,

Not looking to get another amp at this time.
Thanks
you need to wire them in-series upper and lower, not parallel ,,,,,, otherwise the impedance load on the amp will fall to less than 1-ohm per channel ,,, which is not good ,,,,,,
you can use this in-series wiring harness from J&M or build your own with the proper connectors http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....HLRK-7252-ISCH ,,,,,,,,,

40% unusable volume!
John,
Apparently, I'm not the only customer who's unhappy after they've purchased from you. I've spent well over a thousand dollars for a 500 watt 4channel DSP ROKKER sound system (including four 7.25" XX speakers) for my 2011 FLTRUSE. Since January I've been requesting a DSP software program to provide sufficient volume for high-speed interstate touring. To your credit, you have responded, but only with minimal volume improvements. You appear to have taken the stance that your customer should be satisfied with what YOU DECIDE is sufficient. This customer is NOT SATISFIED with a DSP program which limits him to only 60% of the available volume range! May I remind you that I'm not leasing this equipment .....you'll never see it again. Kindly provide me with a 100% solution and trust that I have the smarts to use my volume control wisely!

I'm having the same problem that you are having 100%! When I go pass the halfway point on my volume control it sounds distorted. Wow what's up with that wish I've seen your post before I spent also a couple grand on this system. So did JMJohn ever email you the programs you ask for? It so did they work for your problem? I;ll also contact JMJohn for that program because this really sucks.
Thanks,
Fly

well ,, at least now I know who you are and it is unfortunate that you decided that you needed to bash the J&M product here on HD forums, to the point of being obnoxious, just to see if you could get me to respond,,,,,,
over the past 1 1/2 years, there have been many times I have ignored your emails ((sometimes I just have to)) and other times when I have sincerely tried to explain the system to you and get the proper DSP program to you, for your specific system configuration ,,,, but to no avail ,,,,,,,
YOU are running the Harley saddlebag mounted iPod integration device, and that is one of the reasons you are not getting as much gain into the system, as you might with the CD/Aux input music source etc ,,,,,,
and the volume control tends to be less responsive above halfway ,,,, which tells me that you are also using the AVC control on the highway, and then wonder why the radio face says one thing, when the actual system volume is automatically at max ,,,,,,
then you kind of run off at the mouth about how much you know about Harley audio systems etc ,,,, accusing me personally of somehow trying to control you ,,,,,,
I "SHOULD" just continue to ignore you again, but instead I will send you another DSP download via email ,,,, and you can then let the world know how much louder your system is, compared to it's current state ,,,,,,
just remember ,,,,, ever louder audio system volume levels are a lot like a boost screw on a turbo-charger ,,, the more you turn it up, the better it feels ! ,,,, till you blow a hole right thru a piston ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I'm having the same problem as Triggerman on this amp.
I have a 2014 StreetGlide Special with the 6.5 sound system and when I installed it I was not so happy with the sound. I have your J&M 500 watt amp,J&M xx 6.5 speakers and the J&M 5x7's. When I go pass the half point on my volume I'm getting distortion. These speakers suppost to handle 217 watts plus but seems like the can't take more than 75 watts. So could you also send me a custom program via email so I could get more volume and better head room, I like to get what I paid for. I'm trying to give this system the benefit doubt.
Thanks,
Fly
