You can buy the GPS navigation module for the 'flip outs' that show the map..

My phone is mounted on my handlebars so I can see it as I ride. Instructions still come thru the speakers.
I understand... I used google maps and then got waze 6 months or so ago. But that's my point... the maps are way ahead of you... the audio typically isn't. And until the GPS "sees" you actually make the turn, it won't give you the next audible direction. Sometimes there's not time for that, so the visual cue is better.

I just wish they'd hurry up with the fully compatible android head units

Fully compatible android head units are already here!! I have one in my lexus that I drive daily. Its a pioneer app radio. There are also quite a few other radios out there that now fully support androids. You'll soon see....google is your friend my friend...lol.

I've googled, trust me

What I am seeing is some of them have apps that are compatible with android, but they aren't very good. Like the mirrorlink, appradio, etc. Lots of poor reviews.

When I say Android radios... there's actually a lineup of head units on the horizon that use an android operating system. So there's no need for a separate app on your phone or other device to link them together. you can get whatever you need from the play store and use it right on your head unit, standalone. This means Waze, Spotify, etc.

I looked at the appradio/mirrorlink (for pioneer) and app remote (for sony) offerings for being controlled by the smart phone or linking with smartphones, and while they're coming along...it's just not what I'm looking for yet.

For one, I don't want to have to mess with my phone to change settings on the HU as with the Sony. Seems counter-intuitive and limiting, especially when riding a motorcycle where the voice recognition commands will be more difficult to use.

Second, the mirrorlink sounds like it needs a lot more development time, even though it seems to be the much more usable interface, at least in theory.

Default Final Solution?

timberwolfz28, so I am curious to your final solution because I myself am looking for navigation and or satellite radio for my 2013 FLTRX.
I know I can go with the Iron Aces mount, but would like a head unit instead. For sure I would go with the Biketronics splash cover, but thinking either the Jensen VX7010 or the Clarion NZ503?

What did you do?
