I would get the Arc 125.2 and not look back. The BX feature adds sooooo much extra output that its hard to even consider anything else. Having said that, the type S speakers will ultimately be the bottleneck.

If you want to keep FM you could go with 2 pbr300x2's, the new 4 channel amp from Rockford Fosgate, or even a JL Audio 400/4. The JL audio is expensive and underpowered compared to all of the other options, but you keep FM.
Pioneer - If I remember correctly VHMIKE said he didn't lose his FM reception with the Power Acoustik. . . Might be the way to go. I've been trying to get a couple buddies to buy the thing so I can check it out first hand but it looks like I'm gonna have to buy it and check it out for myself. . The boys are movin too slow for me. . .lol

He also said he didn't lose it with the Soundstream too. I'm wondering if the radio also plays a part in whether you lose it or not.

On my stock HK with the 4.520, I lost all reception, even with the ferrite cores. I sold the amp to another member on this forums, and IIRC, he has an aftermarket head unit and he says he didn't lose any stations.

Yeah . . . Those specific Alpine speakers are not very impressive. What speaker would you recommend?

well the type R speakers are quite a bit more aggressive (I use them often), but my favorite speaker is the Focal PC165 (budget allowing). They fit well, and I have yet to find a better performer. If you have seen the types of installations that I do, you know that my expectations are exceptionally high. I feel confident with either speaker as long as they are backed up by an Arc 125.2.

Unless you are willing to go with the K series, I'd skip the Focal. Not at all impressed ... Focal PC is not enough bang/ sound quality, for the buck...

If you can afford the K series Focal, they are incredible speakers.

Pioneer74, the Alpine PDX amps fit perfectly in the saddlebags !! Have a couple of buddies that mount them to the existing latch hardware.

I'm running the PPI version of the Soundstream amp, using a Sony head unit. I still have all my FM stations, you may be right about the radio playing a part.

I just might have to get my hands on that new Power Acoustik RZ4Z-2000D amp and try it out with my Kenwood deck.

That's what I'm thinking as well. . . . Must have amp. If nothing else I'll stick it on the shelf for a back up to my sound streams. Can't beat 110.00 bucks for that much power.
