Maybe you can get away with not pulling the tank for power but the OP has speakers in the lids as well. I'd think running all that wire without pulling the tank would look sloppy.

Well that would be debatable Sir! I've never pulled my tank and you couldn't find a wire on my bike if you tried. I just loosened the tank bolts lifted up the tank about two inches and snaked all my wires through and I'm running an amp in the fairing and one in the tour pak with 8 speakers. No visible wires anywhere. And I don't do sloppy!

I hear ya....It's so simple to pull the tank is all. Just sayin
I just got off the phone with Robin at B.T. and bought the BT4180.
I'm sending the PBR300x2 back to Amazon for a full refund.
BT sold me the amp for $499.00.
Robin was a bit concerned about the power of my Pioneer 6x9's but he said if the spec are correct, I shouldn't have a problem.
I told him that I am nervous about doing the install and he promised to walk me through, step by step if necessary. He said the install is easy but I may have to remove the tank to "cleanly" run the wires from the 6x9's.
Next Saturday will be the install day...
Guys thanks for all of your advice. And please, no one tell my girlfriend how much I've truly spend on audio. She will go through the roof. lol
That install video features an older bike with a different frame and gas tank. The older bikes would need to have the crossover pipe removed. That is a pain in the ***. The newer bikes are a lot easier. Only adds about 5 minutes to your install and everything is protected.
You should already have speaker wire running from the amp to the fairing speakers. Use that to run the lid speakers. All you need is power and ground from the battery to the front.

True. True. I have an 07 and your are right. it's a PITA!
