Audio question
Hello all
I need assistance upgrading my pieced together system. I currently run a PBR 300X4 that pushes all my speakers: HERTZ HCX 165 6.5" upper faring; JL C5 650 in lower faring; and Infinity Kappa 6.5 in speaker lids.
Earlier today, a friend gave me a brand new Soundstream TN4.900D 4 amp for my V&H throttle PAK and a used pair of Polk Audio speakers 6.5s.
My question: Will the soundstream push all my speakers better than the PBR 300x4 or should I use both?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

1 word... YES
be careful with series / parallel speaker wiring regarding impedance... gotta go, sorry (work).
others will follow up - and if you do not like the amp - I'll take it for several cases of beer LOL

Make that a DOUBLE. . . LOL
I'm presently running the TN4.900 on my rear pods and lids. Only word to describe the amp is AWESOME! woke my pioneers up big time! Not only the pioneers but also my fosgates, Kickers and infinity's. . . . This amp brings out the best of virtually any 6 X 9. The PBR300X4 is no comparison to the TN4.900. Sounds like you have some great speakers with the hertz, JL's and Infinity's. . Just curious as the why you are running the infinity 6.5's in the lids with the PBR300X4 and hows that working out for you with the X4 not being 2 ohm compatible?

Honestly, as you all can tell I am no Audio guru. I have ran this setup for only 1 month and havent road more than a day since adding the 6.5s in the lid. I sort of inherited every component in the system (Cheap) and I am trying to make it work. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
I wont add 6x9 in the lids because I am working on anohter project - so what's the best way to make the most of my newly aquired Sound Stream amp and my current set-up? Again thank you!!

I did not know that! My stero guru is not such a guru!! He will not touch my system again!!
The advice I have for you is there is no such thing as "cheap" when you are trying to do quality. Making it work??? It already works and obviously it aint working the way you thought. However, it does appear that you are willing to spend a little more than cheap so go with the tn4.900. I have it and it is a beast. Its giving the kappas all they can handle and the sound is crisp and clear.

Definetly- I did not mean cheap as in quality but rather inexpensive because all the components were giving to me 95 percent cheaper than cost. I do want a quality sound out of the system and you guys are the people that know your stuff.
If it were me and you want to keep the speakers you have, I would get the tn4.900 and run the front speakers in parallel and the rear kappas direct to the rear channels. Reason being is because the kappas are two ohms and are rated at 225 watts max...which just so happens to be the max output per channel of the tn4.900 at 2 ohms. When you run the fronts in parallel, it will drop the amp load down to 2 ohms, which will make it put out the same 225 watts per channel to the front. That breaks down to at least 100 watts rms to each speaker in the front. That should be plenty to wake those bad boys up. Let us know what you decide.
I respect your view and honesty! After I read my cheap comment I realized it did come off like that! LOL
I had a chance to get the Vtwin audion 6.5 speaker lid modification for a great deal and jumpped on it without considering having a 6x9 in the lid. In retrospect... Well... I would have gone 6x9! I am going to take your advice on the hookup! I will let you know how it works out. Again thank you! Artillery all the way! Airborne!
