Default 1997 Ultra Classic in Stirling Alberta is Pooched!

Just a warning to watch out for this guy trying to pawn off a bad deal on someone who doesn't exactly know what the sound of a $3500 problem sounds like. Ad is on Kijiji Link is below.

1997 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic. I Called this guy many times and he claimed nothing wrong "Very Clean, Well Maintained" we settled on $7000. So we said we were driving from Saskatoon to buy it. Also told him we were bringing a Harley mechanic with us... Still nothing wrong. When we arrived we saw the bike BEAUTIFUL! Wow, unbelievable. I was stoked!
My mechanic fired it up and it sounded great with the Supertrapp mufflers and all. ...Until..... Once it warmed up and he re-started it, there was a terrible and obvious knock. When he asked buddy why he hadn't mentioned this, POW!! I could see it in his eyes- he was busted! Not only was he trying to flog a bike that was on the verge of exploding, he led us on and let us drive 7 hours one way only to find out we were being duped! All he could say, with shame in his eyes, was "Well, it hasn't given me any problems." UNBELIEVABLE!

So... 15 hours (and some choice words from my mechanic) later we were home and I just thought that I would post this ad to help save some other people the agony of dealing with this deceptive jerk. Shame on you Warren! We all get what we deserve in life and I feel pity for you.

As of today the ad is gone, (I wonder why?) but it WILL be back so please don't pay $7000 for a bike that will cost you another $4000 in engine work. You know what they say, if it seems too good to be true... You're dealing with Warren from Stirling!

All I can say now is that I am so grateful to my good friend the mechanic who spent a whole day to save me a whole lot of money! There are 2 kinds of people in this world, people like Warren, and people like Stan. Thanks man!

This is your first post so welcome to the forum.
What did the mechanic consider to be the $4,000 problem based on what he heard?

A full engine re-build I guess would be $4k Done right that is. Really I don't know what the exact issue was, that's why I brought a mechanic. And boy am I glad I did.

Hi from Saskatoon! Glad your mechanic was with you. Situation narrowly averted. Doesn't matter what we have attempted to buy on kijiji, there always seems to be at least two to three scammers lurking in the wings. Its crazy. It would be quite disconcerting buying a bike that way.
