Sorry I've been busy this year and haven't been in the forum for a bit so missed this topic. I live in Sault Ste. Marie and have driven to and back from Ottawa if I can be of any assistance?

I didn't think asking for some personal knowledge of this part of Canada would upset people.[/quote
What do you want to know? Travelling west from Ottawa you have two well travelled routes to Sault Ste. Marie (aka The SOO). The heavily travelled route is on the #7 highway and then up past Georgian Bay. The northern route is on the 417 highway which morphs into the #17 hwy. The northern route is more challenging, roads aren't as good and is plagued with speed zones.
