Default Carburetor compatability

I know this is probably a stupid question, but thought I'd check anyways. I recently purchased a replacement carb for my 2002 sportster 1200 that turned out not to be an exact match. The only difference I can see is there is a port going to the throttle body on the new carb that my old carb does not have. Here's my stupid question; can I bypass or plug that port to make this new carb work on my bike?

Yes, just plug it. You do need a vacuum source for your petcock and a source for your VOES if you have a voes on your bike but that is probably coming from a nipple on the manifold. YD

Thank you. I was hoping that might be the case, but better to ask than assume. The new carb does have the same vacuum connection, so I'll give it a shot.
