Default 96 Dyna needs TLCI have a 96 Dyna Wide Glide that needs quite a bit of TLC. Pulled fouled plugs that was gapped at .28, 29
replaced & pulled air filter & cleaned. Owner played with air & idle mix & now cannot run or start without full choke.
Any ideas on how to completely reset to see if it needs rebuilt? hard to pull choke and adjust either adjustments solo.
Any help would be appreciated & anyone close that could advise would this help the novice mechanic trying to help.
Thanks in advance, Forrest
Thank you very much for your advice above & everything was running great then just shut down completely no lights battery was replaced new battery is draining as soon as I plug it in. Any advice or guidance would certainly be appreciated thank you
You have posts describing 2 completely different issues...
Something smells fishy...
Nope nothing fishy, just more problems as i am diggin into it. Owner stated he tried to start without spark plug caps on & drained battery. I charged battery & installed yesterday & immediately it was draining battery & click noise from left side of bike???
Thank you & I have done the above, installed battery & immediately negative lead gets hot & I have a one click sound coming from left side.
Is this maybe starter relay? I am hoping this may be problem. Helper here stated after I had air & fuel mix he put ratchet on top of plug & pulled plug cover off, he was going to check firing on plug, he forgot & tried to start with seeing ratchet on plug...UUUGGGGHHHHHHH. I am hoping maybe popped relay but cannot put battery in to check. I apologize for my Lack of mechanics but any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU TO ALL, my 2ad veteran bro would be happy with your help.
