is automatic transmission fluid recomended for evo primaries thanks

thanks john i took the derby cover off and it full to the right level but it is clear oil not red like auto trans fluid

clear is probably Harley primary fluid or some one else's primary fluid - its a modified tractor hydraulic fluid but it has modifiers in it for clutch material

we have had no issues using dextron 3 - today its dextrion 5 but I buy the dextron 3 in 2 1/2 gallon jugs in cases and have for ever

ford old type F is not good as its sticky and the clutch will baulk and jerk when hot

thanks again john. it was filled by a hd mech when he had the inner primary off so id say its the right oil used. just 1 quick question, is the evo clutch a diafram operation

yes diaphragm and they like alto clutch parts

my mate is a mc mech-jap bikes and he dosent like diaphram clutches.said spring operated work a lot better. what your thoughts john thanks
