Default 1952? Harley Davidson model s-125

Hello, I recently got this bike from my dad and I’m trying to get it running. My dad said it’s a 52 but I can’t find anything to confirm it. Here is pics. I’ve googled all of the serial numbers and nothing concrete.

"Tele-Glide" was only available on a 125 in 51 and 52...so very likely...

You need the VIN number stamped into the left engine case to ID engine, if it's a '52 number should be like 52Sxxxx. Looks like the engine could have been replaced or at least the cylinder and head which don't appear to be '52 125 pieces.

The following page will be of great help to you.... https://www.harleyhummerclub.org

Here's where to find the engine VIN...

Then that's a 1960 Super 10 165cc magneto engine. The tail light also appears to be later model Super 10. I'd say what you have there is a 1960 165cc Super 10 and not a '52 125.

Go to the page I linked and start viewing the Hummer History, Members Pages and How To Restore sections shown at the top, you'll get it figured out.

the harley numbering system like the fork tree has a -53 at the end of the number, that means the part what ever it is was introduced that year sometimes, but most times the following year - in the front fork tree number that should have been 1954 when it was first available - only time we see a change is in late production machines will get the newest part at the end of the build year

so if its an early bike its been switched at some point - if its a late build bike then its possibly correct for the year my guess its a 1953 or 1954

if you chasing the rebuild - bills cycle in bloomsburg PA has a large supply of parts for that type of bike - is also on e bay selling stuff and will know answers to questions you may have - maybe
