Only H-D OHV single i`m aware of is the Peashooter race bike
BUT cylinders for that have a bottom flange and threaded holes on top for Cyl. head attachment
That has neither so it had to be attached with long studs like later bikes.

Thank you, and you are right about not sure being an H-D cause that is information handed down to me. The bulk of the bike was allowed to slip away and is gone.
I also have a chain guard stamped with numbers I will post. chain guard numbers stamped on top of chain guard
The rear chain guard pictured above would be from a 1948-1962 era H-D two cycle lightweight, it's identical to and the same part number as on my 1956 ST 165. I don't think the cylinder is a H-D part and is certainly not a match to the rear chain guard, the two cycle H-D's had a bore size of roughly 2 3/8".
