Default 1955 Panhead

I have an opportunity to purchase a 1955 FL in almost original condition. I haven't seen the bike but the owner says it has the original frame, crash guard, fenders, tires and even the seat. The Lincoln carb was changed to a S&S.
He says it is a unmolested bike. The motor was just rebuilt 300 miles ago. He is asking $10,000 (firm) for the bike. My question, is this a fair price for this bike if it is what he says it is? Thanks

Its only worth what your willing to pay for it site unseen. Pictures would help a ton.

Price is OK if the bike passes scrutiny. Hows the number on the left engine case? Do the belly numbers match and align with the number on the left case? Is the frame truly a 1955 frame. There is no serial number on the frame, so ascertaining this takes a certain amount of frame knowledge. Does your state require a title and if so does the title reflect the left engine case number. Discrepancies in these areas will cause problems and devalue the machine.......Bill
