1938 EL 61 OHV
Hello all!
Well, here I am at the beginning of helping my father restore his Harley. I am a Camaro girl myself. I own a 1971 Sport Coupe with some Z28 inspirations. Restoring a Harley is something totally new to me! I'm sure we'll be here often with questions. Any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated!

If we are going to need any then I would like to stick with NOS as much as possible. We bought 2 resto books and are trying to piece together what are the correct parts for that year/model as well as stock colors and combos. For example, we found that we don't have the correct foot rests. The 38 had rectangle ones but he has half round shaped ones. Who knows what the former owners put on it. It sure will be fun finding out!! Do you have the name of a good NOS retailer? I have no idea where to begin!

Look in the Walneck magazine. There will probably be some good sources in there. Also, check with the guy who runs the Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley, NC. Here's the website: http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com/
