I looked at a 59 Duo-Glide today and was wandering where the best source for parts would be for this bike. Complete bike was running when parked in garage but I'm sure that I'll have to go through most everything. It didn't have a windsheild but did have hard bags. Any guesstaments on what this beast would be worth? Thanks....Tim
Nice!! I'd buy two of them for that price!!! My life's story....never at the right place or right time!! Great looking bike. I'm sinning now....envy!!! Tim
trebin...J&P carries pan parts as well as V-Twin. Additionally nospart.com is a good source. Also Kick Start MC Parts. No webfor himbut phone is (616) 245-8991. In addition to this site there is also HydaGlide-net and Harley Tech Talk. J&P also has a QnA site for vintage stuff.
Not sure what the market is for 59s. Owned a 65 since 1970 and along the way a 50 that was chopped. Still riding both. Added a 49EL that wasn't cheap but fair considering it had sat in a barn for over 30+ years. I figure I will have invested about 7500 into it before I am finally done but withit and I figureI would still come out ahead if I absolutely, positively had no choice but to sell it (that is, of course, afterI sold the house, cats, truck, gave away my retirement which is still 2 years hence, and everything else I have that is worth something to me!)
Terry...can't believe you sold that 59. One cool lookin scoot!
59 was the 2nd year of the swingarm frame. 59 had the better heads, better cam bearing setup. the 1959 duo glide is one fine exsample of the Harley Davidson motorcycle. i own and ride a 59 FL it's not all original (close)and i would'nt trade it for the world. it becomes part of you and you become part of it.
