Default Dads 1950 all original panhead

Hey all i recently acquired my dads original 1950 panhead it is all original and hasnt ran in 5 years but was properly stored. It needs a battery though. I have a couple of questions. First being where do i find a battery for it i believe it is a twelve volt i found one on jpcycles i believe but just was wondering if anyone knows of another place to get one. Also after sitting 5 years what all should i need to do to get it in running order. It was properly stored but. Just curious of how gummed up the carb will be after 5 years and such. thanks for any input.

If it's original, it had a six volt battery.

if it is original it will be a 6 volt. it'll be square and about 7 or 8 inches tall. It will have 3 caps for the cells. don't mix it up and install a twelve volt, bad things will happen. J&P will have them and you can give Kick Start in wyoming, MI a call. Not sure if any battery stores such as Interstate would carry that. I converted mine to 12 years ago, I like to see at night.

Have a picture now but it's not the best. Maybe I'll try to get some better ones on here pretty soon. Thanks for the battery clarification though. Joe, I'm not in Rapid City but I am in South Dakota.
