Default Need budgeting help for a '67 flh

I am on the hunt for a 67 flh flat side. always wanted a bike born the same year as myself and this one really appeals to me

I really don't care about the condition of tins or frame paint as the bike will be stripped and repainted.

I really have only 2 criteria, motor and tranny must be good, or at least easily repaired, and ALL numbers must match with clear title.

Salvage title or bikes with crate/non original motor and tranny are not an option for me due to the ridiculous import rules here.

What can I expect to pay? I have seen bikes advertised for anything between 6k to 17k, in all different states of repair. I've seen 7 k bikes that look good and supposedly run great, and I've seen 16 k bikes that look like crap and need motor rebuilds.

I am trying to gauge what my realistic budget should be so I appreciate any info.

Thx.

buying and restoring a bike that is almost complete OEM is the cheapest -

as you wont have to go and find what has been replaced with china crap -

in the USA they run 10 thousand average and not easy to find for a 67 that is a un molested BUT it is worn out -

Than in the end a sweet ride will cost 10 to 15 thousand to re do OEM original doing it your self with some special paid for help -- jz
