I seem to be older tan many on this site. I first rode a Harley Hummer in 1952 at the age of 10. It was 1948 Hummer that belong to my 20? year old neighbor. I rode it about a mile down Hardins Run Road and back and was hooked for life. I worked on my grandfathers farm so I saved up and bought a 1954 165 ST, Later I upgraded to a 1957 St, I dismantled both the thes and repainted them Farmall Red using rattle cans. In 1962 when I was 20 I bought a 1962 Pacer 175 with 10 cu in and 10 hp. Those are geat memories. The 62 Pacer was a color Harley called Hi Fi Red, a friend of mine in Fredericksburg still has the touch up paint I bought with it.
The pics are Hummer, then 175 Pacer and 3rd is a Pacer in Hi Fi Red. Picture #4 is the 54 ST 165. These are all wearing the black quiet mufflers. There were chrome gutless "fishtail" mufflers around that were irritatingly loud. Note that pictures 1 through 3 have Tillitson butterfly carbs and the 54 ST has a hidden slide valve carb of unknown mfgr.
