Made some serious progress over the past few weeks! Biggest one is the engine actually being DONE and IN THE FRAME!
Note to self, don't try that

So pretty! Needs more black though, but it will do for now.

Purdy

The beginning of a "what not to do" warning video! Doing this by yourself sucks.

Heart transplant, redneck style.

My back hurts, my neck hurts, I need a beer!!!

So purdy in her new home

Tranny is in and sorted out
alone ever again. Very little powdercoating was damaged in the making of this **** show.

Your bike project is looking very good. Do you still have the original gas tank from when you started?

I do not Smitty. I actually sold it to a local shop who has used it for their paint display.

Forgot to take video, but finally got the Gripace wiring figured out and blinker issue resolved. 4 hours of pinning wires, checking schematics and continuity.....only to find that the $25 relay I bought from them was faulty (taiwan piece). So for $12 I got an american made version (same company, same part number marked MADE IN US for half the price.......figure that one out) and suddenly I have blinkers, brake and tail. The wiring looks like ****, but it's temporary until I change the lights themselves for something brighter. In the meantime, had to find a cheap "plan B" exhaust system. Didn't wanna go for the $100 LAF drag pipes, but had to be in the neighborhood. Found this nifty 2 into 1 lakeside deal for $130 on Ebay. I know, I know, it's not Bassani or Rinehart, but it's in my budget. We are going to throw some torque cones in it, black wrap it and let it ride for a while until I have my pennies saved back up. Hell i may decide I like it after a while. Here's the first mockup last night. Welds aren't pretty, but they'll be covered up so who cares? Had to go redneck and spread the header tubes out with my flatjack, as they were tweaked about 1/4 inch and wouldn't line up.

Not gonna lie, I kinda dig it. Can't wait to see it with the header wrap!

Nice build...never seen anyone install a Harley motor with an engine hoist...can't wait to see the finished product...

Not my smartest idea, but believe it or not, it worked out well in the end. Once I fought it for a while, cussed a lot, hurt my back, stepped back and realized my head was up my *** and adjusted. After all that, it practically fell into place!

Using a motor hoist works well.

See what I mean! Especially when you are a 1 man show with a 110lb wife who just looks at you sideways when you say "come hold this" hahaha

A few more progress pics and a video of the suspension laid out. This thing has fought me at every turn, but i think the payoff is gong to be worth it.
