Default part numbers

does anyone know of a web site that you can just enter a part number to and find what it is (year, modle, size) I am rebuilding an old ironhead that I got years ago. Found the motor that I had was a basket case, I knew the guy that put the thing together, and I don't think he had the correct parts. Thye block was (4A12206H0) thinking that it was a 70 (900) when I pulled it apart I found a mess. The jugs wewe scored, pistons were wiped out on the back side only. Further inspection of the cases found that the motor had been broken and rewelded more that once. I whent and bought a newer block (3A30508H2) thinking it is a 72 (1000). I grabed some heads from a friend (16682-71,16684-71). Looking to see if I can use thies heads with this block and what jugs to use.

I think the '72 models, first year for the 61 inch motor, had heads different than earlier and possibly later models. Heres a link to an excellent Sporty joint where you might get some better help than my tired ol' brain:

Hey I have hered some have put shovel big twin jugs on sport blocks. Is this possible? if true can I through 80" jugs on the pig with out breaking the bank?

Yes, Shovel top ends have been adapted to Sporty bottoms. They're known as Shovesters. Lots of machining, lots of bucks.
