Default Custom bike build question

I am really looking into building a bike (bobber style fashion). I recent purchased a donor (basket) bike. The question is does anyone know of a company by chance make a rigid frame that utilizes the factory swingarm style transmission or will I need to purchase a new transmission? I am sure I could fabricate something, but springtime is around the corner and I am looking to get this thing on the road.

Not that any of you need it, but I have attached a picture of the donor bike (1991 FLHT CLASSIC).

I realize that this may be a weird question.

Thanks for your help!
-Ronnie

Actually, that bike should have a fairing, but had it removed thus the gooseneck.
The problem your going to have is that the engine/tranny combo will not fit softail based frames. If you going to get a new frame get one for a rubbermounted engine.
A new tranny wont work because you'll end you having to figure out the rear end of the block, I believe it has mounting point for that specific tranny, if it doesn't and looks like a regualr HD evo rear mount you can just buy a new tranny case, replace you 5 speed gut into it.

What I would do. Keep the orginal frame, save you about 1200.00 right there!
I would gooseneck it more but keep the vin number area safe.
Keeping the stock frame make registration easier and keeps it real HD.

Here some goose necking reference

What kind of rear we're you looking to get, do you want to have a rigid?
In you case I would keep the shock setup but find 60-70's FL stock style chrome shock cover it really give it that vintage look.

Is you main goal getting rid of the "Y" stlye rubbermount frame? These can be made to look cool.

If you really want a rigid chopper type frame, they are available from most of the major suppliers/catalogs. There are some for the rubber mount engine/trans but you will probably have to get things like a new oil tank, pipes, etc. Mounting the parts will involve having tabs welded on. You will be talking lots of $$ for parts and fabrication. All you will really get off the donor is engine and trans. I built mine from scratch and it wasn't easy, quick or cheap!
