Replacing head gasket on S&S
jim
Too much oil pressure tends to blow out gaskets. Since there is an overflow system on the motor, that would have to NOT be working. Another cause is that the cylinder and heads "got loose", and the studs needs to be tightened. Lastly, once the gasket has been tightened "cinched down", if for any reason, the head is taken off and the pressure is removed from the gasket.....not changing it out and jsut re-tightening it down later can cause a leak. S&S makes GREAT stuff, I am a big proponenet of them, which is why I run their gear driven cams and gears in my twinkie. Keep in mind that not all S&S motors are built at S&S....some shops buy them unassembled and put them together, so you could be looking at a situation where the guy that built it took a shortcut, or jsut didn't know what he was doing.

IMHO....Chica make the nicest chops out there, but I can understand going with Swift as it's ALOT cheaper cost wise over a Chica bike. I was up at Sturgis last Saturday, and if you ever get to look over a Chica bike up close, is obvious that the others are of lower quality with the exception of Ness, in my opinion.
