Question using the X wedge?

Has anyone out there either seen or built a custom using the new S&S X wedge engine?

I doubt that you consider Big Bear Choppers to be custom, but they have brought the X wedge and EFI into most of their line up as an option in 2008. My 2008 BBC Venom pro street is the S&S 100 smooth with carb (old school mentality). Their website has quite of bit of info and pictures of the X wedge www.bigbearchoppers.com or http://www.bigbearchoppers.com/forefront/EFI.htm

S&S really screwed the pooch when they designed the X-Wedge such that it can't be used with a standard H/D Frame.

Overpriced, and unnecessary.

I'd like to build a bike around one of those engines but the five figure price tag is WAY outta my league. Maybe someday...

$35,400 will get you the 2008 BBC Sled with 114CU X Wedge EFI http://www.bigbearchoppers.com/bikes/sled/chopper.htm
With choppers in the tank, $6,000 off MSRP is not unheard of.

Chopper Dave made a nice bike with one. Also check out
the gas tank... it's cast aluminum - not sheet metal.
