Quick question about engine oil.....

Default Quick question about engine oil.....
Well, I'm a car builder but I want to work on my own bike. I have a lifetime service on my Harley but with the custom, I'm on my own. I refuse to pay anyone to work on it, if the engine blows up, I'll get a new engine and learn how to install it, but right now I don't even know what oil to put in it! lol.... The majority seem to talk about Mobile 1 20w50 fully synthetic, is this the same Mobile 1 that the auto parts store sells or is there a special formula for V-twins? (Revtech 100)

its a special,air cooled,made for HD motors. its good oil.I use lucas in my street bikes and my nitro bike,great results

Mobile 1 V Twin is Different then Mobile 1. The V Twin is the one you want.

Cool, thanks!! Will Advance Auto or Pep Boys carry it or do I have to do to a motorcycle shop?

There's no reason to put motorcycle specific oil in a Harley. The less expensive 15W50 will work fine. That's probably the most popular syn oil used in Harleys.

actully there is,automotive oil is designed for water cooled engines,not air cooled.and not for a harley.oils oil,most likley wont hurt anything,but its not the same
