my neighbor has a CMC softail, has a 96" S&S and runs like a raped ape.............i see him pushing it home atleast once a year though, ignition module always gets fried, i told him he prolly has a poor ground or a short in one of the circuits

anywho, all in all it aint a bad bike, but HD has alot more $$$ to spend on engineering and R&D than a small time manufacturer.....thats the angle i view it from

I'm good enough with electronics to troubleshoot.

I'm gonna go have a look at the thing. It's price attractively enough that's for sure.

I hear you about HD R&D, but then again...since the very beginning of HD plenty of us have had to push 'em home.

Some people are just plain...illogical

So the reason I posted this question for the forum is this ad on craigslist:

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/mcy/1795306064.html

SWEET lookin bagger for $7200? Heck yes.

I email the guy and he tells me he has no pics, that I should just come to Irvine to look at it. That's 25 miles each way. I tell him I'd rather see some more pics before doing so. He repeats "no pics, sorry"

so I'm thinkin "no pics? You posted one in the ad!"

Finally this morning he sends me a few emails with pics attached

See below

What - tha - !#$^?

Entirely different bike. Style isn't even the same...ahahahha NOTHING is the same! At first I just thought they had pulled the fairing and bags! heh...talk about benefit of the doubt!

Anyway...just had to share this one with yall. I might post it in the main forum as it's pretty darn funny. Kinda. Not really. Granted it's still not an unreasonable price or anything. Hell the S&S 96 would cost almost that much new! But...just can't figure out what the guy was thinkin.

Anyone else get a little chuckle out of the "it was so fast I had it detuned" thing?

Default Cmc

Yeah (C)alifornia (M)otorcycle (C)ompany. This was the small company that lead to the return of Indian. I own a 98 Rocket 88. Basically a HD softail but it has an 88ci S&S and Vance and Heins shorty drag pipes. I just converted mine over at the end of the year to a custom bagger project and its comming out pretty good. I just joined this forum because of this post lol so ill be sure to try and get a pic or two up here in a bit. I was looking for a stretched drop fender for it as we speak.
