Trying to build a custom S&S 96" in a rigid frame. Using a Revtech 5 speed tranny for Evo, and Custom Chrome primary kit for 90 - 98 Evo. Problem is that when the trans and motor are bolted up in the inner primary and I install the clutch hub, it appears that the mainshaft is too short, as it ends even with the inside of the clutch hub and no threads show for the mainshaft nut. Anyone had this problem?
I have uploaded pictures to my album "Evo Bobber" under my profile. There is only 6.5 cm of shaft extending through the primary when it is mated to the transmission, as shown in the pictures. The clutch hub is 6.5 cm deep, so the threads do not protrude through the hub for the nut to fit. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, as the Revtech transmission is supposed to be for a 1990 to 1999 softail and so is the primary set up from Custom Chrome.
