155" RK Build
Dog how did you get a 155 in a RK ? Did you modify the back bone ? I know an S&S 145will notfit . I not doubting you . Just wondering . I have a 124 that is in the 150-160 hp range . They (big motors) are fun as hell .
JS124,This motor is an 1 1/8" taller Using a frame with the neck cut off,I cut the backbone up,and made up a whole new neck area.A friend tig welded me up a true dual exhaust,so far this thing has made me more than nervous. My 02 124"RK is fast, but this thing has to be aimed. So far the clutch is still holding, but once broken in and the timing is put out to where it belongs, I have my doubts.Acceleration is Savage!
Cool . I ride a new custom built 145 with the new X manifold from S&S with 2 G' s from time to time . That thing is wicked ! It is actually to the point of out of control . You can't nail it and stay in it . You can't stay on the bike .
Barnett Scorpion,so far it is still holding the motor, will definetly have to up the spring pressure once the motor timing is advanced where it belongs after breakin. Now up to third gear have to be very careful how I whack the throttle.Because the tire melts too easy,R&R says it is only going to get better with time. Can't wait. That 145 S&S has to be intense,my 124" is a blast. It has found a spot in the corner now that the 155"is alive.
Shooter, hang in there,it took me many years to find what I really wanted.First was a 93" Shovel,SuperGlide 10 yrs.124" Evo RK 5 yrs.now the 155"TwinCam.When you do step up,go as big as you can.You will be glad you waited.Dog
I run a primo pro clutch on my custom and bagger. They say their silver sring is all that is needed for their clutch with a 124 but I can slip it . I have the gold spring to use when I need it . It is sold as drag race only . Thinking about dropping the 124 in the bagger .
