Default Bobber Clutch

I have a Hard Tail Bobber with a 1250 kit on it, and the clutch is either disengaged or engaged, no matter how slowly I release the lever, it just takes off, can't slip it for smooth start. Just gotta hang on and hope it's clear in front of you. :-) Any ideas?? Gonna do a tranny fluid change soon, will adjusting the clutch plate locking nut help?
