I use Meguiars NXT soap or any car wash soap that is pH balanced, it really doesn't matter which brand as long as it is balanced and won't strip wax.

I remove the saddlebags and seat as they are leather. I cover the air cleaner with a plastic grocery bag, crumple another bag and gently push it into the exhaust pipe, and cover the battery and electrical connectors under the seat with plastic.

Use the "mist" or lowest setting for your hose sprayer!

I use the Bike Brite as well. Spray it on and rinse off. Gets all of the light weight stuff, and the freeloading bugs as well.

I'll second the S100 total cycle cleaner.... Just spray it on (while the bike is cold) I use a pressure washer until no soap comes off, then take the leaf blower to the bike, hardly takes any time, and I get compliments ALL the time... I'll always recommend S 100 products

I use Meguiar's Gold Class car soap. Works great!

I have tried a ton of em but like Bike Brite the best. Seems to rinse better leaving less spots.

I use the Zaino products... Car wash, polish, etc.. Always have since I got my firstCorvette, No waxes, just polish.

Soaps (In their basic form) no matter who makes it has really just one purpose and that is "just to make water wetter"

I use purple passion car wash and turtle wax chrome polish. I use a sponge then rinse with pressure washer and blow dry with a leaf blower. The turtle wax chrome polish is the sh-t.

Most of the time I go to the car wash. I'll get flamed for this, but once you've done a good hand wash, a weekly trip thru the car wash works well.
As for soap, flamed again, but Michelle gives me whatever dish soap she has available.
It's a machine! I ain't too worried about it.
Dish soap not recommended for paint that is waxed... It breaks down the wax and leaves your paint unprotected -- just as it does with a car's finish. In fact, if you plan on using something like Zymol, it is recommended that you use dishwashing soap, as Zymol works best when applied without another type of wax on the finish.

Yeah, it may be working okay, but why take off the protection we work so hard to apply and maintain?

Just saw the reference to the "Calgonite" product -- only caution on this would be to make sure the crystals are dissolved so you don't scratch the paint...

I use Blue Coral Wash Fluid for the tins and chrome, and Simple Green diluted 1:10 for engine. Seat stays on.
