Default Battery comartment

How do you guys clean the spaces that have all the electronics in it? For example, under the seat or where the main fuse is located? I took my seat off the other day and noticed just crap and dust in that area. Is there some spray for electronics that can be used?

Default Battery Compartment

When l wash the bike, l remove the bags and the seat. The battery area gets soap a water, rinsed off and dried with a air blower and then toweled. Never had an issue because of moisture. Harley get wet in the rain anyway or sitting outside in the elements.

We have the same machine, you don't have to sweat hurting anything under there. I have ridden through driving rain in tornado country, and the bikes get swamped.

I keep up on it with a wet rag, but have had to wash it down with low pressure spray before after long rides like the one I mentioned above.

i use a dry microfiber to start, gently wipe as much as you can and then blow it out afterward (compressor, canned air, lean in and go "phooooooo")

then I use a damp mf towel, no soap and such, very dry, no water dripping, wrung out very hard

next, come the cotton detailing swabs, i dip the swabs in a prep solution....only need a tiny bit, leaves the surfaces super clean

keep poking, prodding, wiping, and swiping until the tips start coming back clean

last time i took the time to properly clean it, i wiped each individual wire....seems like a pain in the ***, because it is...... also, grab a tube of dielectric, if you disconnect a wiring harness, apply before reconnecting

hers is a before and after, did some wire cleanup as well

Where is the "after" pic?

Edit: Oh wow! What a huge difference! Nicely done!

Alright then...I guess I will start spraying Probably will just get some soapy water in a sprayer and use a little brush to get in tight places and then gently hose it off...

Thanks guys!

Default Late to the thread

Late to the thread I know but I use this electrics cleaner you can pick up from Menards. I use this **** on everything. It's under pressure so it squirts out strong and practically cleans everything without having to touch or dry anything. Safe for all electrical components and connections
