I have a black 2018 FLHXS. I have tried few products to make the wheels "shine" but i'm struggling. Still lots of dullness no matter how much I apply. Is there a product that I should try that folks had a success with ?
I picked up some Sonax Wheel Cleaner plus for my 19 FLHXS. It say's that its not recommended for motorcycle wheels, so I tested a small area before doing an entire wheel, and I couldnt find any damage caused by it. This is the result of me just spraying the stuff on, letting it sit for about 3 minutes, and hosing it off:
Gonna try to do a full wash this weekend, if I do Ill post any additional results because like I said , this was just a quick test of the Sonax, but so far I dont see any reason why its not safe for these wheels. I might also try to contact the manufacturer.
Tire shine, and it leaves a coating on the driveway too.
But seriously, after applying, ride straight roads avoiding tight corners and wet roads for a mile or so.
First thing is to clean them and decon them. Meguiers compound and wax wont do a dam thing if you dont do those first 2 steps. Sonax makes the best wheel cleaner on the market, use that and see what you have afterwards before you attempt anything else.
