Today was a cool and cloudy day so I decided to do some paint correction on my Heritage Classic. So much for that because my back gave out on me. I got one side of the tank done and couldn’t go any longer. Now I will wait until after I recover from back surgery in just over a week. I’m disappointed but that’s the way things go. It looks pretty good but it can look a lot better.
Looks pretty good to me from the pictures. Are you having surgery from something that happened while doing this? Those little swirls are really hard to get out though. Not so visible on a metallic paint though. I found out the hard way whatever orbital buffer you use slings specs everywhere and the clean up is more time consuming.

No, it’s degenerative I have had back issues for several years , with multiple herniated disc’s and spinal stenosis. I have been avoiding surgery for years but my spinal canal is getting smaller and putting more pressure on the nerves there. I’m hoping the recovery will be short since the surgery won’t be a full blown spinal fusion.

Sounds familiar. Foraminal Stenosis is what I've been diagnosed with and surgery is recommended. Broke my back twice and turned down surgery. Had at one time 7 collapsed disc's. I've shrunk 1-1/2"! Keep us updated. If you come back happy with the results I may pull the trigger and join you. Good luck.

Damn, a broken back? Twice, wow. That had to be painful. I have hav a couple of broken ribs but I couldn’t imagine a broken back. I’m praying that it will go well and fix my back issues as I’m ready to get back riding and my doctor thinks that I can get back to normal activities in 2-4 weeks.

That sounds promising. Yes it was the worst pain you can imagine on the second one. I literally stepped backwards into space from 6ft. I was told I'd need to invest in a wheelchair if I didn't have surgery by one Dr. I was flat on my back for 6mos. Rehabbed myself. Had to learn how to walk again!
Thanks, but I think I can still get the paint looking a lot better. I didn’t make a huge effort on it since I only used Groits perfecting cream with an orange pad followed by a yellow pad, then put on a coat of Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant.
Love the color. Based on the preview, it's going to look fantastic when you get around to doing the whole thing.
Thank you. I love the way it turned out, however, after I got the tins back from paint, I think I would have done the whole thing with the blue flake and silver blue flake flames. I think it still looks good for the paint to be 17 years old. (It was as painted during the summer of 2007).
