The Trinity Project
Been lurking for a while; decided to start a thread for my bike.
I'm pretty interested in the history of U.S. nuclear development, so I decided to theme my bike after the old Manhattan Project and Trinity Test since it's pretty dark and I haven't seen it done.
I'll start from the beginning, but the only thing I really have finished is the tank.
Day I bought her:

Pipe side:

In the snow:

Parking lot:

Took the tank off for paint:

Sanded and ready for primer:

Couple layers of green:

After the first star:

Finished tank:

Don't think it could get more symmetrical without measuring:

Back on the bike:

Side view:

I've got a ton more ideas that I'll post if anyone's interested. Otherwise, I'll just keep it a surprise.
I'll be the first to admit that there are probably much better ways to do this, but I like doing as much as I can by myself. This is also the first time I've done anything like this, so I'm probably making a lot of amateur mistakes, so constructive criticism is always welcome.
This may not be everyone's taste, and that's cool, but I think it'll look sick. StreetFighter and a few others on here are definitely inspiring this.

Tank looks awesome. Next time, don't hang it. Make a makeshift stand to lay it on for even paint coverage and no runs if you use clearcoat. I LOVE how you kept the rear mount black and put the front plastic tabs back on. Looks OEM and is very clean! For my chameleon job I even used 2 old dining room chairs as stands. HAHA! I'm honored you mentioned my name and I inspired you! It's family here. Many inspired me. Glad to pass it on! Nice progress!

I like it, thinking of going green tank myself. Whats your opinion on going with a brown seat to give more of an old timey look? I think it would look great with the green but not sure about the black of the rest of the bike.
But I want it to look like a "darker"/post-apocalyptic/etc version, so I don't know if a brown seat would make that work. Maybe a darker brown...
