Itys a great option on the road, if you do travel, and have a dirty windshield. You can get it anywhere. I used it every 100 miles when I went to Alaska.

the guys I ride with carry hydrogen peroxide to wipe off bugs.
Yes, that has been discussed before.
A good wax based and it does not hurt paint.

I've been using Pledge for years on bikes and truck. A used car dealer turned me onto it. That's what a lot of them use to detail cars. I put it on my visor before a trip,... water just rolls off.

I used to use Pledge a lot, but the new aerosol cans of recent years don't seem to hold up well and are darn hard to find here. So I switched to some other Pledge like furniture wax in a spray can, with the same perfectly fine results.
The closest I could ever come to a dislike of Pledge is the way it does attract dust. Not a big deal, but a long day on dusty roads often means wiping the windshield down every fueling stop.

Today, for the first time ever, I tried that Honda spray cleaner and polish in an aerosol can. Color me thoroughly impressed by it on the trucks glass and the bikes windshield. Works well on paint too. It might end up replacing my can of Pledge like stuff in the saddlebag.

g.
I never noticed one way or other, Someone said SXS manuals recommend it because it keeps dust off. I don't know, never did a side by side test. When I went to Alaska every 100 miles rinsed glassed off and washed windshield.

I am not saying it is better or worse. But an option on the road, you go to any IGA and get a can, Plus some kid went off that he has been doing this for years, and no one has ever done it. So that is mainily why I started this thread.

But when I started on harley forums, people were using it. Cheap and common. Is putting a bike on the can better?

I also wonder if it lathers up better protecting the bike, as opposed to thin spray.

I used it for over 20 years, same windshields around the country, Then last year tried bugslide, which I think is over priced, and not worth it. Then tried areo cosmetics. In bulk not bad price, and really nice towels, at least to a person like me.

I would use Pledge if I had it. But I use anything like soap and water, window cleaner, wash spray or just at a gas station the squeegee and a towel. Sound like some spend too much time cleaning when u should be ridding.

Personally, I would never use the water for windshields at a gas station. Who knows how long it’s been there and how much crap is in it. I had a friend who used a gas station squeegee and it really scratched it up. So bad it had to be replaced.

Right! And using the squeegee is like using a coin operated carwash's brush. The guy before you used to wipe off oil and sand. I've only used gas station windshield water in an emergency to dab gas off my tank and then used a towel not the squeegee. Carry a microfiber towel and small bottle of your preferred cleaner in your saddlebag.
