If the drive belt is a concern, get a ph neutral cleaner. Plenty of them out there. Just guessing, but the belt is a lot “tougher” than a tire. Car tires get wheel cleaner on them all the time, I’ve heard of no issues.

I like Griot's Wheel Cleaner and the Speed Master Wheel Brush. Both our bikes have spokes so that brush is a win for us.

I will say I've always been impressed with Meguiars Hot Rim Chrome.

Chrome wheels are easy. The ticket for any wheel(s) is to wash them regularly to prevent multiple layers of road grime from bonding and drying on them. Many cleaners will work and I've never heard any substantiated accounts of recommended cleaners doing damage to wheels or tires when used as directed. Never let any wheel cleaner dry on the wheels. I personally have used S100 with fine results and no issues. I like it. I also like using my foam cannon to saturate the bike and wheels with thick suds....let it soak....then bucket wash using a high quality automotive soap. I use a small microfiber hand-mop to wash the wheels. The bike is elevated on a lift-jack and I spin the wheels as I wash them. Rinse and dry.

After you foam and let dwell, rinse and foam again to hand wash.
The reason to foam is to lift the debris and let the foam carry all of the debris off the paint. This is the reason why the thick foam that doesn’t really run off is just for show
On a bike it might not matter as much. On a car or truck, you want to foam, rinse, foam

You need a wheel cleaner that is compatible with your wheel type. Some wheel cleaners can’t be used on bare aluminum. You need to read the label, both front and back, to make sure it will work with your type of wheel.

I use Turtle Wax Rapid-Decon Iron Remover + Wheel Cleaner. It is safe for all wheels. It has a chemical in it that helps remove the brake dust that gets imbedded in your wheel.

You should also get a wheel brush that gets in between the wheel spokes. I use an EZ detail brush.

After cleaning you should use some sort of protection, like a spray and rinse wax. It will make cleaning your wheels easier in the future.

Adam's deep wheel and tire cleaner is amazing. After ceramic coating my wheels, all I have to do is spray the cleaner on, let is sit about 1 minute and rinse off wth hose for beautifully clean wheels.
I buy it in gallon jugs when they have a sale (Black friday / father's day / etc)
