Default Salt from winter storm

My new to me bike came from Arizona and never saw a winter. While relocating the bike on a open trailert to the east coast I hit a wintery mix storm in West Virginia. Thought I got the salt off but apparently not, still seeing remanents on the motor. Tried using the SOS salt away spray, not sure it helped. Any other ideas?

Sorry you have to deal with this. Assume you haven't run it yet, so it hasn't had a chance to burn in.
I've tried Dove dish soap 🫧 with a non abrasive brush 🪥. Then blow off water with leaf blower.

Tedious but when in Florida - get stuck in the rain (salt water) it happens frequently.

Just one Man's suggestion.

Ride Safe 🤙 James

are you sure it is salt?
rain is evaporated water and during that process, contaminates drop out, BUT, that does not mean that rain water is pure, hence the new term coined "acid rain".
were you on a salted road?
if it is salt residue you probably could taste it to a degree, depends on how diluted. water deposits usually occur in low areas or maybe pits in your case.
if it does not brush off/wash off it might be bloom. bloom is where the aluminum base has oxidized. if it is this then you need to clean and seal.

I was certainly on a salted road, the bike and trailer had a white haze once I got home. I would agree the aluminum fins appear to be oxidized but I'm fairly certain the top of each head has some trapped salt particles. I was not aware there was a sealing process, I'll have to look further into that. Thanks for the replies, really appreciate everyone's suggestions.

I say soak it down with WD40 and wipe off with a dry rag, the rest will burn off when you ring it out.

Salt residue would be all over the bike. Hard water residue?

It was initially all over the bike, still some lingering salt on the underneath. It's most noticeable against the black on the engine case though.

Try using some rinseless car wash and a small stiff bristle brush. I don’t know for sure if it will work, but it’s worth a try.
