Default Black Parts Fading/Ozidizing?

On my 05, I notice that the passenger floor boards (folded up) are black underneath, or at least they used to be. I have seen some engine recommendations, but do those recommendationsalso apply everywhere else on the bike? I haven't actually looked closely enough to see if the boardsare metal, or plastic, but I do know the finish isn't smooth.

I have a bottle of "Mothers, Back to Black". I haven't seen it posted about anywhere in here, and that makes me a little leary.

Am I the only one with some black left on their bike? [sm=smiley17.gif]

I've been told that I tend to hold conversations with myself, and I guess I was right because I seem to be doing in now... :P

I had a bit of a wild hair and decided to procede with the "Mother's Back to Black" for the passenger foot floor boards. It was a success 100%. I can't report on the long term effects however I will report back once I can give a better long term report.

sorry for the delay, i just read the thread.
you might try pig spit, it works nicely on the black metal parts.

what about the plastic parts? my "dash board" has what looks like washing residue on it, maybe from the detergent or maybe wax. Any idea how to get this off?

I'm glad you used it on the floor boards because I just bought a bottle of Mother's back to black for my inner fairing, have not used it yet. But now I will try it on the floor boards as well. Good job.
