Default Blacked-Out Fat boy Wheel Center

I found a ceramic paint that worked well to black out my Fat boy wheels.
Duplicolor Brake Caliper Paint.
$6.50
I removed the wheels and took off brake rotors and the sprocket thensat them on garbage cans.
ThenI cleaned the wheels with wax and grease remover twice.
Taped - painted - waited four hours the flipped and repeated.
Did both wheels with one can, the paint has ceramic in it and is easy to clean.
I am happy with the results.

Coop57 -
Nice, NICE!! Looks awesome.I'd asked about this on another forum, looking for tips - gonna try this with my '02 Fatboy. Thanks for takin' the time to share some tips. I had wondered if a guy had to smooth out the textured aluminum to get a good appearance - guess not...

You a right you do not need to take the texture off.
The ceramic paint will level out.
Be sure you get the wheel very clean and dry and horizontal
My first coat had a couple of fish eyes I poped them with a tooth pick.
You have to give a second coat about ten minutes after the first.
Be carefull not to lay to much paint on at a time.
I went back in an touched up a spot I missed and it had a ridge showing (the start of a run).
I left it overnight thinking I would have to sand it out and recoat.
I was pleasantly surprised the next morning it had leveld out and disapeared.
This paint is amazing.

I can not speak to the longevity of the paint as I have only had it on the wheels two weeks.
But it is rated resistant to brake dust and has ceramic in it so I expect good things.

How did you mask the little dimples all the way around the wheel?
