I did a search but surprisingly found nothing on the topic.

The cleacoat on my rear fender, around the buttonhole the seat bolts too, was damaged about two years ago. The clearcoat is slowly chipping away in a widening circle. It's about three inches across now. Any suggestions for stopping the progress of this, and how to repair the damage done myself?
