Default Black engine touch up

I have a 2004 Road King Custom. There is a light spot just above the primary cover (on black finish). Does anyone know the best method to darken / touch up the black engine finish?

Is it a bad spot on the paint?.....Spotted from a cleaner left on?...Polish or wax on it?
A lot of people are on this "total cycle cleaner" craze.....if left to dry they will spot.
Wax or polish should remove with some cleaner, toothbrush and wipe with a towel.
Reguardless the black will darken up with some Pig Spit.

S100. I think it may be called engine brightner. I have used it in the past with good results.

The spot seemed to show up after a nasty bug splat. I am very careful not to apply any harsh cleaning / polishing agents to the black engine finish. I'll try to touch it up after the next wash. Thanks for the info!

I just used S100 today to darken the engine. It worked great. It's just silicone in a spray can.

The S100 product worked great! I applied a very conservative amount to the blemish. It rejuvinated the appearance within a few minutes. Thanks for all the follow up messages.

Just a added note if you get somthing like "Mothers" or other chrome polish on your engine try using a "Mr Clean Magic Eraser" they get it looking like new.

This stuff is also very good on any of the black on hoses, handle bar grips, inside dash on fairings, etc. Makes them look like new.

Simple Green for me. Just spray it on, let sit for a minute (cold engine of course) and hose it off. Won't hurt paint or chrome either.
