I just bought a 97 fatboy and the chrome has that kinda powdery kinda white kinda starting to pit maybe look. I used a spray on cleaner that took off the white powdery stuff. It naturally didn,t touch the spots that look like pitting is starting. This spray has petroleom distallaites in it. It is for chrome and paint. Takes bugs off great.
The problem is that the white stufff seems to come right back in about a week. Any suggestions/ Should I wax the chrome? and if so with what, etc.
The Metal Gloss will clean the chrome and aluminum, and the sealer will protect for several months. Leaves the bike looking great, and is very easy to use, with no abrasives.
I use Blue Magic about once every few months on all my chrome great stuff gets it clean and protects. in between to shine it up I use Wizards Mist and Shine.
I use FLITZ polish , good for all types of metals, leaves protective layer to keep oxidation away. It really shines. Follow periodically with Mothers chrome polish. If surface is dull and oxidized the FLITZ will remove it.
Gords aluminum and chrome polish and protector (google it) I know you'll want to try it and get the small bottle like I did a couple years ago, but trust me, get the big one! This stuff is the bomb on chrome and aluminum, and it is soap based, takes rust of chrome quick and easy with the 0000 steel wool. then shines and protects great! If no rust or pitting, just use a shop towell to apply, and micro fiber towell to shine
