Cool Vivid Black issues

As much as I like a black motorcycle, what is the best wax to use to keep it looking black without swirls, small scratches, etc. ?

I use Meguire's products. I use a cleaner before waxing then wax with almost pure carnuba. The trick is apply the cleaner and wax in back and forth motions, not in circles. You'll still get some swirls but the will not be as noticable. Swirls are caused by the reflections of light off sharp ridges in the paint or clear coat. A cleaner will help "round" the ridges off so that light is not reflected as much. Hopes this helps.

Another vote for Meguiars. I use the Quik Detail in between the more serious waxes.

Thumbs up

Thanks everyone for your input. Looks like Mequiar's products seem like the best to use. This is my fourth black Harley, and sometimes I wonder why I keep buying black ones. My friend had white, blue, red, purple, everything but black, and his always looks good. Of course my '10 Limited with black/black ice sure does look good when it's clean and shiny! I'm going to give 'ol Mequiar's a try. Later. Ride safe. Jr.

have had good luck with turtle wax black box kit.
a 3 part adventure, (wash&dry,cleaner/remover, then wax.)
its a lot of work, but sure looks good when finished. its a good time to drink a few beers.

be sure to wear latex gloves, if you if you try this.
