I use Meguire's products. I use a cleaner before waxing then wax with almost pure carnuba. The trick is apply the cleaner and wax in back and forth motions, not in circles. You'll still get some swirls but the will not be as noticable. Swirls are caused by the reflections of light off sharp ridges in the paint or clear coat. A cleaner will help "round" the ridges off so that light is not reflected as much. Hopes this helps.
u say u want the best wax for black here u go ZAINOS go to there web site $16.00 a bottle. there is nothing better i promise u this i have a black harley truck, a black 2009 flhx, and a black 61 pan/head. i tried them all and none of them even come close to this polish. buy it u wont be sorry and anyone else reading this buy it works on all dark colors but makes black look like glass and the bugs wont stick to it. my 2 cents
Thanks everyone for your input. Looks like Mequiar's products seem like the best to use. This is my fourth black Harley, and sometimes I wonder why I keep buying black ones. My friend had white, blue, red, purple, everything but black, and his always looks good. Of course my '10 Limited with black/black ice sure does look good when it's clean and shiny! I'm going to give 'ol Mequiar's a try. Later. Ride safe. Jr.
have had good luck with turtle wax black box kit.
a 3 part adventure, (wash&dry,cleaner/remover, then wax.)
its a lot of work, but sure looks good when finished. its a good time to drink a few beers.
