Spray Captain Richard's on the engine and just wipe and polish the chrome parts. The black will take care of itself. It's made by Boms Away. I use it all the time and it works great.

I use a 50/50 mixture of Son Of A Gun and water in a spray bottle.

I use pig spit, it leaves it shiney or kind of a wet look.

Pig Spit from HD or Simply Wow's Pig Spit from Wal-Mart, they seem to be one in the same product, both work great.

Just the other day before reapplying the Pig Spit I put some Dawn Dishwashing liquid in a one gallon garden sprayer after filling it with very hot water from the bath tub, sprayed it on the engine, dried off the engine with a leaf blower, took a short ride to make sure the bikes engine was good and dry, allowed it to cool and then reapplied the pig spit.
