After much hesitation, I finally purchased An Original California Car Duster(the mini version). Let it rest on newspaper for 3 days per instructions. It is about two weeks old and still leaves a white film/streaks on the bike. Has this happened to anyone else? Did I get a faulty duster? Reviews seems to be great- but extremely disappointed.(maybe try a swiffer?) Thanks in advance.
That's the way they are when new... They're less likely to leave that residue as they become used. They really do work better the older they get.
Whatever you do, don't wash it in detergent or it will become practically useless. The detergent removes the treatment. It won't leave any streaks then, but it also won't pick up the dust. I did this once to a really old one I had.
You might try rinsing it in some hot water, letting it dry, and then trying it again. Or use it on your car a bunch of times just to get it broken in.
