Bought a set of the swing pegs and they are pretty awesome. However, I had to send them back because the chrome is pitted, bad craftsmanship, on the swinging peg piece.
Never have had any problems with Kury pegs of any type. Hubby had them on his '98FXDWG and his '03 FXDWG and I have sets on the '03 Sporty & '07 FXDB even had the FXDB's powdercoated and they all have been great for us. So sorry 'bout yours.
I had to send back my brake lever twice and the rest of the chrome wasn't great from the start either I think I'm just going to pull it off and have it powdercoated maybe.
I bought the 4" adjustable offset adapters for the passenger pegs....around $50.
Chrome work was great but I actually had to machine off part of the attachment poin so that it would sit correctly in my stock HD mounts. I thought that was a bit crappy........
Put on 3rd gen forwards from Kury and the spline on the shifter piece would not accept my stock chromeshifter. I tried a new shifter....no go...finally had to get Kury to send me a new piece, which they did free of charge and w/o exchange plus I put on one of the Kury extended shifters...... that finally worked.
Thanks for the replies. It appears Kury's QA is a bit linient. I'm hoping the replacement set I get is okay since those swing pegs are pretty nice. I e-mailed Kury directly since this is a new product and I haven't received a reply back. I bough mine through an eBayer that sells nothing but cycle parts and he will exchage them. However, it is my loss to have to ship them backout of pocket. This has happened to me a few times with items bought through eBay. You pay in full, you wait a while until the itemarrives, you receive it and it is defective, and the seller expects you to ship it back at of your pocket. I had an issue with one seller where Ibought areally nice Samurai Sword for.99 cents andthey charged me 20 dollars of shipping. When it arrived, it had a 2 dollar shipping stamp on it. When I inspected the item, it was in bad shape...I proceeded to ask them for areplacement and they said that they had to file a claim through the shipper. I explained that thedamage was not from shipping, they said it had to be because they inspect every single item they ship. I took pictures and they agreed to exchange it, but I had to pay for shippingthe item to them and back.I couldn't believe that crap. I filed a claim and both eBay and PayPal did not back me up...thissellerwas one of those power sellers...the life line of eBay. I left negative feedback and I started recieving nasty e-mails. Then, of course, they left me a nasty feedback with a note saying that negative feedback doesn't matter to them because they sell so much...I wish I could get my hands on that son of a b|tch.
Like you said.......their QC may be lacking a bit but overall they put out some good products I think.
Did you guys know that there are numerous HD packaged parts.....chrome bits mostly like fender skirts, some covers etc etc that are provided to HD by Kuryakyn? Had our local dealer point blank tell me that.
The forwards I put on look great and were bought off ebay from Eastern Performance Cycles.....they were great to deal with.
If you get no response from Kury on tht e-mail call their tech support line...that may help and is finally what I had to do to get a replacement part.
