Default Front Brake chatter - Fat Bob

"brand new" - well 1500 miles anyhow. I heard a rattling noise when finishing my normal stops. I looked down at the forks when I heard this the next few times and spotted the forks are vibrating madly. Only does this the last 10-15' of the stop. Doesn't matter the speed but as you can imagine prettly slow. Faster speed braking is smooth, just that last annoying few feet.

Since I'm a newb to Harley, my only comparison is a Honda St1300. It never did that. I was thinking since it is still on warranty and because I only have had it 3 weeks, of bringing it back to the dealer I bought it from. It is a ways away though so thought i'd first ask if this is normal behavior or do the pads need to be scuffed or cleaned? Don't want to get laughed out of the shop, by asking a potentially stupid question.

Might want to check the rotors to make sure the bolts are tight and that they're not warped - I know several people that have discovered their rotors were warped with less than 5k miles on the bike

I am guessing warped rotors as well, had to get mine changed with less than 1000 miles on them.

If you look down, it's pretty easy to see the rotors while driving that bike. If they're warped you should see it.

Mine have chattered a little from time to time but then it goes away. I have around 10,000 miles on my 2013. Might try a quick wipe down with brake cleaner. If the dealer is close, can't hurt to have them look at it.

I do know the rear brake on my bike is crap, takes a ton of pressure, and might even squeal a little.

It is not the rotors. It is sympathy vibrations from the engine and here is how I know this. Start at the top of a hill engine on, get rolling a bit, kill the engine use the front brake to come to a complete stop. Nothing, smooth as can be. Now when I come to a stop and want to avoid that aggrevation, I simply bring the RPMs up.
